Teenage cancer trust

Teenager Cancer Trust

The Teenage Cancer Trust has been our charity partner in England, Scotland and Wales since 2015. We started the partnership with an initial goal of raising £1 million over a two-year period, but thanks to the amazing generosity of our customers, franchisees, store teams and colleagues we were able to smash our target within just 14 months. And the great news? Our work hasn’t stopped there!

Since our partnership began, we are delighted that our incredible partnership has raised more than £8 million for Teenage Cancer Trust to help ensure cancer doesn’t stop young people living their lives. This amount could fund over 266,666 hours of expert care from a Teenage Cancer Trust Nurse, trained to support young people with the clinical, social and emotional impact of cancer.

Domino’s team members and Franchise Partners continue to go above and beyond for Teenage Cancer Trust, taking part in a variety of fundraising challenges and events - from fire-walks, marathons and skydives, to sponsoring Teenage Cancer Trust’s Royal Albert Hall Shows and engaging with local communities at New Store Openings. We couldn’t be prouder of the support they serve up!

Making a difference

As much as we love it, we know pizza won’t fix everything for young people with cancer. But sharing something you love with the people you care about can play a small part in making a big difference.

That’s why we make sure Domino’s pizza is a frequent treat on Teenage Cancer Trust units throughout the UK, through our monthly Pizza Party donations. It’s our way of bringing people together, and gives them a chance to share their fears, worries and their successes over a slice (or two!) of pizza.

In 2023, alongside the charities core services, we funded a host of peer support activities and events for young people with cancer including, residential weekends away, days out to theme and safari parks, and wellbeing and confidence workshops. Six Youth Support Coordinators have been provided through the Domino’s partnership and we also sponsored the Ultimate Backstage Experience for young people with cancer at the Royal Albert Hall.

“Domino’s is an incredibly special partner of Teenage Cancer Trust and everyone involved has become part of the charity family. The difference Domino’s is making to young people facing cancer is something to be immensely proud of – just a simple slice of pizza can bring young people together and get them talking about their feelings and experiences of cancer, helping them to make connections with other people who understand what they’re going through. Peer to peer support is so important to ensure good mental health and well-being for young people facing cancer, and Domino’s play a huge role in facilitating these authentic connections to happen. At the same time, the funds raised are ensuring our specialist teams of nurses and support staff can be there to provide the medical, social and emotional support needed at such a challenging time in a young person’s life. We are very grateful for Domino’s and all the support they give to young people facing cancer.”

About teenage cancer trust

Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”.

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to providing the specialised nursing care and support they need to get through it.

You only get one chance at being young, and those few crucial years will shape the person you become – your relationships and career, your confidence and wellbeing, and your ability to pursue your dreams. Cancer can throw all of that off track. Suddenly, your life’s been turned upside down. You’re scared and living from one appointment to the next.

Teenage Cancer Trust makes sure young people have someone in their corner right from the start. Their specially trained nurses and youth workers walk with young people from diagnosis through every step of their treatment, and for up to two years afterwards, so they can recover and live life to the full.

Their team are there to give every young person facing cancer the very best care and support during treatment and beyond, so cancer doesn’t stop them living their lives.
