DOMINO’S SERVES UP 30 NEW JOBS WITH HAYLING ISLAND’S FIRST EVER STORE

24 June 2024

Domino’s, the nation’s best-loved pizza company, has officially opened its first store in Hayling Island, located at 31 Elm Road, Hayling Island, PO11 9EA welcoming 30 new jobs to the area, including pizza chefs, in store team members and delivery drivers.

The Hayling Island store marks a special milestone as it will be run by Domino’s first-ever female Homegrown Hero, Lucy Harman, who has relocated her and her young family to the area. Lucy, who joined the Domino’s family at age 16, initially taking phone calls two evenings a week, worked her way up the ladder becoming one of Domino’s top-performing store managers before taking the leap to become a franchise partner and own her own store at just age 32.The Homegrown Heroes programme offers current and former Domino’s employees the opportunity to own a Domino’s store and become part of its franchisee system.

Lucy Harman, Domino’s Franchise Partner said: “My family and I love the coast and so when it came to choosing where to open my first store, we didn’t hesitate to choose Hayling Island for its unique beauty. To become a franchisee in such a wonderful location is a dream come true and part of an amazing journey with Domino’s that began with me on the phones in Whitstable! I’m really look forward to serving up pizzas to the neighbourhood and getting to know the local community while showing that I can combine being a Mum with having a successful career.”

The new Hayling Island store is open 7 days a week from 11am – 11pm serving up freshly prepared Domino’s favourites, including Pepperoni Passion and Vegi Supreme alongside new additions such as the recently returned Ultimate Spicy Sausage.

The store held an exciting grand opening ceremony where the Mayor Councillor Pete Wade, Teenage Cancer Trust partners, local community members and customers were invited to meet the new store team and of course, try some freshly prepared Domino’s pizza. The store also sold 500 £1 pizzas in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. To celebrate the new store, customers can avail of special, limited-edition deals including:

  • 50% off pizzas when you order through the app

  • Any large pizza for £9.99 and buy one get one free collection specials

  • Two medium pizzas and two classic sides for £25.99

More than 90% of Domino’s store managers and area managers started out as a delivery driver or a pizza maker.
