Domino’s Pizza UK and Microsoft have teamed up to revolutionize the way we order pizza thanks to an ingenious delivery app made for the Xbox One console, allowing gamers to order pizza through their Xbox simultaneously while playing games or watching movies.

The app launch is an integral part of Domino’s business strategy and highlights the importance of digital and online sales to the pizza company. In the last two years alone, Domino’s has worked with Microsoft on several digital platforms including apps for Windows Phone 7, 8 and a universal Windows 8.1 app for phone and tablet. The app has been designed and built by Future Platforms using their in-house bespoke cross-platform development framework called Kirin.

Hungry gamers will be kept up-to-date in real-time, with the app able to track orders from ‘store to door’ displaying your pizza’s journey on the side of the screen from the moment the order is placed.

Simon Wallis, Marketing Director at Domino’s Pizza UK said We love gamers and gamers love pizza, it’s the ultimate Domino’s #Gamefuel. Xbox One has the best platform for us to build on. We’re proud to be able to allow people to purchase a physical product via their Xbox console. The Domino’s app is voice and gesture activated and can be controlled using your smartphone and we can’t wait for people to start using it.”

To celebrate the launch gamers will also be able to treat themselves to an exclusive Domino’s #GameFuel Big Night In Deal, including one large pizza, one portion of Mac ‘n’ Cheese bites, one garlic pizza bread, one chicken strippers combo, one four piece portion of doughnuts, and one 1.25ltr bottle of drink for £24.99.
